The music scene in Detroit has produced plenty of poodle-haired rockers over the years, but this documentary turns to the Motor City`s influential, yet resolutely underground, techno scene. The techno movement blossomed in the 1980s, with artists such as Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig, techno music and Jeff Mills crafting tracks that packed an energetic rush of bloops, bleeps, techno music and beats. Techno music - Techno is a form of electronic music that emerged in the mid-1980s and primarily refers to a particular style founded in Germany and developed in and around Detroit and subsequently adopted by European producers. The term "techno" is often incorrectly used in North America and Europe to describe all forms of electronic dance music.
