K-pop - K-pop is an abbreviation for Korean popular music, specifically South Korean (there is practically no popular music industry in North Korea).
Pop music - Pop music, in popular and contemporary parlance, is a subgenre of popular music. Since the term spans many rock, hip hop, rhythm and blues (R&B), country, dance and operatic pop acts, it is reasonable to say that "pop music" is a loosely defined category.
SM Entertainment - SM Entertainment is the main producer of Korean pop music, and is the management agency of several Korean pop stars. The company is named after its CEO, Soo-Mahn Lee (이수만).
